Tips for your summer stroll

Tips for your summer stroll

With summer and warmer weather comes strolls with your family. Whether it's through the park or the neighborhood, here are a few tips to keep your kiddos safe while strolling this summer.

  1. Sun safety

Sunny days are ahead! While the sun may feel nice, it can be tricky to manage while out and about with little ones.

  • Keep your little ones in the shade! Our Pivot Xplore Dreamz Stroller Wagon features two expandable UPF 50+ canopies. They expand from 2 to 3 panels with a quick unzip to help protect against the sun’s harmful rays.
  • Apply sunscreen to your child regularly (according to your sunscreen’s SPF), especially if they'll be spending a lot of time outside. Look into getting UV stickers as a fun way to teach your children about reapplying sunscreen at the appropriate time.
  • Our Pivot Xpand Modular Stroller features a parent cup holder and an extra-large storage basket — perfect for a water bottle and refills! You can keep a small soft-sided cooler or lunch pouch down below in storage to assure your extra water and snacks stay cool on those hot summer days.
  1. Preventative safety

Before you start strolling with your little one, keep these things top of mind.

  • Always read the instructions and manuals provided with your stroller to be mindful of warnings, height/weight restrictions and necessary product information.
  • Keep little hands out of reach when folding and unfolding your stroller to prevent pinched fingers. As much as your child may want to help, keep the folding and unfolding to an adult.
  • Never leave your child unattended in their stroller. If left unsupervised, your child could injure themselves trying to get out of the stroller or trying to unbuckle themselves.
  1. General safety

Don’t forget these necessary safety tips as you set off on your summertime adventures.

  • Make sure your child is buckled properly with the provided restraints. Proper safety harnesses ensure your child is positioned exactly where they need to be without the ability to get out on their own.
  • Brake! Don't forget to apply your stroller's brakes anytime you are fully stopped. Avoid parking on hills or inclines so that your stroller doesn't start to roll away with your child still in it.
  • Be cautious of any extra bags you have with you. Don't hang heavy bags on the handlebars as this could cause the stroller to tip over. Always utilize the storage provided underneath the stroller, following the weight guidelines provided in the instructions.

Keeping these tips in mind will help keep your kiddo safe during your summer strolls. From ice cream outings to family walks and more, your Evenflo stroller has you covered for every occasion.
